As a freelance photojournalist in the 1980s James Boyd was Yachting World’s Multihull Correspondent and a sailing correspondent for the Daily Telegraph.

For 12 years he was Features Editor, then Assistant Editor at Yachting World. Head hunted to become editor of madforsailing.com, he acquired the website, renamed it thedailysail.com and ran it until 2016.
